US President Donald Trump said Iran must surrender to end the war with the US. At the same time, he threatened to strike Oman if the country interferes with the settlement of the situation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"They must raise the white flag and surrender," Trump said in a telephone interview with Fox News.

According to Reuters, negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain deadlocked. Earlier, the parties agreed on a temporary cessation of hostilities and intended to work out a final agreement within 60 days, including on Iran's nuclear program. However, the agreements quickly ceased to be in effect.

Separately, Oman and Iran are trying to agree on restoring commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Before the US and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February, about 20% of world oil and liquefied natural gas supplies passed through this route.

"If Oman gets in the way, we will bomb them," Trump said.

The situation around the Strait of Hormuz has already led to higher fuel prices and increased pressure on the American president to end the war. At the same time, Trump said that the upcoming November midterm elections to the US Congress do not affect his strategy toward Iran.

Earlier, on Truth Social, the US president called the main goal of the war to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

And the day before, Trump published on the social network Truth Social an image created with the help of artificial intelligence showing him participating in the capture of an Iranian tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
