US President Donald Trump, amid large-scale unrest in France, urged Paris to close the country's borders and take the situation under control. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Trump said immigrants were to blame for the unrest. He wrote this on his social network Truth Social.

"France is burning! Immigration of people from a completely different world, people in whose hearts hatred lives, has destroyed a once great country. Close the borders and take the situation under control before it is too late!" Trump urged.

Note that demonstrations against the rising cost of living and pogroms swept Paris, Marseille, Lille, Nice and other major cities. They were accompanied by clashes with security forces, arson of buildings and looting of shops.

According to the French Interior Ministry, law enforcement detained between 1,200 and 1,800 people. At least 150 police officers and gendarmes were injured during the suppression of the unrest.

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed full support for the security forces and promised to bring all those responsible to justice.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that protests continue in France and Italy. A city hall with a destroyed roof, looted shops and dozens of injured people — these were the consequences of the unrest after actions against high prices.
