US President Donald Trump said in an interview with the British newspaper Financial Times that Washington wants to stop the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"In plain terms, we want the war in Ukraine to end. We want peace," he said.
The statement came two days after Trump's meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
Following the meeting, Zelensky said the US administration had agreed to provide Kyiv with technology for producing ammunition for the Patriot air defense system.
