US President Donald Trump said Washington has its own proposal for peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Trump did not disclose what exactly this proposal entails. However, he previously said that his special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, during their planned trip to Moscow on Saturday, would present proposals aimed at stopping the conflict in Ukraine to the Russian side.
"We (the US – ed.) have our own idea for achieving peace," Trump told reporters at the White House. The American leader said this in response to a journalist's question about whether the new US proposal envisages Kyiv's renunciation of any territories.
This is one of the latest developments in the context of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. Earlier it was reported that the US special envoy would deliver a proposal on settling the conflict in Ukraine to Moscow.
