US President Donald Trump said he is discussing the situation related to Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil facilities. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, these attacks are creating major difficulties, RIA Novosti reported.
"We are talking about it. It creates a lot of problems," Trump told journalists.
However, the American leader did not specify with whom and on what issues negotiations are being held.
Causes of rising fuel prices
In his statement, Trump said that rising fuel prices in the US are caused not by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, but by Kyiv's strikes on Russian oil refineries and the closure of oil refineries in a number of US states.
Peskov's statement
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Ukraine must answer for its attacks on Russia's peaceful economic facilities.
According to him, the Russian Armed Forces are currently taking appropriate measures in response.
Russian Defense Ministry's statement
The Russian Defense Ministry had earlier reported that it had heard Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's statement about intensifying attacks on oil refineries in Russia.
The ministry noted that after this statement by Zelensky, strikes on Ukraine's military facilities, military-industrial complex sites and related infrastructure would be intensified.
