US President Donald Trump said he may abandon the agreements reached with Russia in Anchorage, Axios reported citing sources. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that at the Alaska summit, Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed Washington's proposals accepted by Moscow on Ukraine, so US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statement that there were no agreements in Anchorage is illogical.
"Trump... said he could abandon the agreements reached in Anchorage. Under the agreement, the US accepted Russia's demand for control over Donbas as part of any deal," the portal reported.
On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the results of the Alaska meeting have not yet been implemented. In the summer of 2025, the presidents of Russia and the US held talks in Anchorage, discussing ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. Vladimir Putin said after the summit that it was possible to achieve an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
