Toyota has updated the Grand Highlander for the 2027 model year and added a Woodland version for the first time. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Grand Highlander Woodland — the main novelty

According to the publication, the crossover received increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain. Prices for the Grand Highlander in the US start at approximately 19.1 million tenge.

The main novelty is the Grand Highlander Woodland. It was fitted with taller springs, thanks to which ground clearance grew by 13 mm. It also received 18-inch matte black wheels with all-terrain tires, black decor, roof rails and LED fog lights.

In addition, the Woodland got a tow hitch and protective mudguards. Inside, there are all-weather floor mats, a special removable cooled box between the second-row seats and a 120 V outlet with 1500 W of power.

The Woodland is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive and a hybrid setup. It includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, a nickel-metal hydride battery and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The combined system output is 245 hp.

According to Toyota's price table, the Grand Highlander Hybrid Woodland AWD costs $51.8 thousand, or about 23.2 million tenge at the exchange rate on the day the material was written.

Hybrid Max Platinum changes

Another notable change concerns the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum. Chrome, silver and dark gray elements were replaced with black ones, including the mirror housings and the roof antenna.

At the same time, the powertrain remained the same: a 2.4-liter turbo engine, a six-speed automatic, a small battery and a rear electric motor. The total output is 362 hp and 542 Nm.

Other changes in the lineup

There are fewer changes in the rest of the lineup. Toyota dropped the Hybrid Nightshade Edition and Hybrid Max Limited. The Platinum version with the 2.4-liter turbo engine received new 20-inch two-tone wheels, while XLE trims gained a heated steering wheel and new 18-inch wheels.

The base 2027 Grand Highlander LE costs $42.6 thousand, or about 19.1 million tenge excluding delivery. Sales of the updated crossover in the US will begin later this year.

Earlier, Kursiv Auto reported that the Toyota Highlander lost to four cheaper crossovers.
