Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a statement to media representatives as part of his visit to Germany, the Akorda reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state expressed confidence that today's talks would pave the way for further strengthening of ties between the two countries and noted the special significance of this visit.
"Next year marks 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. Since then, our partnership has been consistently developing at all levels. In particular, our ties in the trade, economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres have strengthened," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The head of state drew attention to the fact that during substantive negotiations with the Federal Chancellor of Germany, the parties reached important agreements.
"During the negotiations, more than 30 commercial documents worth a total of about 2 billion dollars were signed. If the contracts are effectively implemented, cooperation between the two countries will undoubtedly be strengthened," Tokayev said.
The President noted that Kazakhstan has a special affinity for Germany.
"Germany is a very authoritative state on the international stage. Therefore, I came with the hope of reaching new agreements with this country. Now the task is to implement these agreements at the proper level. Therefore, I place great hopes on the future. I am fully confident that we will achieve even greater success. During the negotiations, I invited Chancellor Merz to visit our country on a state visit next year at any time convenient for him," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
