President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived on an official visit to Turkey. At Etimesgut airport in Ankara, he was met by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In honor of the Head of State's arrival, an honor guard was lined up at the aircraft's ramp.
Recall that in May of this year, Tokayev and Erdogan signed a declaration on eternal friendship and expanded strategic partnership. This was preceded by bilateral talks and the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
During the talks in Astana, the leaders of the two countries discussed investments, energy, education, digital projects, and the development of the Middle Corridor.
«Kazakhstan considers Turkey an important strategic partner,» Tokayev said at the time.
Thus, Tokayev's official visit to Turkey is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations. During the trip, the parties are expected to discuss prospects for implementing previously reached agreements. In particular, the areas raised during the May talks—investment, energy, education, digital projects, and the development of the Middle Corridor—will not be overlooked.
Strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkey has significantly strengthened in recent years. Meetings of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council demonstrate the stable nature of political dialogue between the two countries. The declaration on eternal friendship and expanded strategic partnership signed in May of this year defined a new stage in bilateral relations.
During the talks in Astana, the leaders of the two countries discussed specific areas of economic cooperation, including investment projects, interaction in the energy sector, ties in education, digital projects, and the development of the Middle Corridor. Tokayev's statement that «Kazakhstan considers Turkey an important strategic partner» clearly reflected Kazakhstan's position in this direction.
The current official visit will allow these agreements to be implemented in practice and further deepen bilateral cooperation. During the meetings in Ankara, the parties may also discuss current issues on the regional and international agenda.
