President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated US Senator Steve Daines on the 250th anniversary of American independence. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state highly assessed the pace of development of multifaceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States. Attention was drawn to the steady growth of trade, economic and investment integration.
The President emphasized the importance of high-quality implementation of bilateral agreements signed during his visit to the US in November last year.
"In this regard, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated his readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation during his visit to the US to participate in the G20 summit, which will be held in Miami at the end of the year," the message said.
The head of state expressed gratitude to the senator for his contribution to strengthening the expanded strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States, as well as for his constant support of our country in promoting the legislative initiative to repeal the Jackson-Vanik amendment.
Steve Daines conveyed to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the warm regards and greetings of US President Donald Trump for his commitment to expanding Kazakh-American relations. The senator especially noted Kazakhstan's adoption of a new Constitution and congratulated the President on the successful implementation of large-scale political reforms.
Steve Daines expressed confidence that the principles and values underlying the Basic Law will lay a solid foundation for further modernization of Kazakhstan as a strong and progressive state. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
