Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke at a ceremony honoring media workers, congratulating journalists on their holiday and expressing warm wishes. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"You always raise pressing issues that concern the people and faithfully serve the interests of the public. In the current era of global technology, disseminating prompt, high-quality, and truthful information, as well as providing effective analysis, is an honorable task entrusted to the journalistic community. The state highly values your dedicated work," the head of state said.
The President highly appreciated the contribution of journalists to the adoption of the new Constitution, noting that the journalistic community provided high-quality and substantive coverage of the Constitutional Commission's activities and conducted a comprehensive analysis of the proposed amendments to the Constitution.
The head of state expressed confidence that newspapers and television channels are transitioning to a new format, creating innovative multimedia platforms, and developing in line with the demands of the times.
"Periodical press and television have lost their former dominance. However, I disagree with the opinion that 'the time of traditional media has passed.' On the contrary, newspapers and television channels are transitioning to a new format, creating innovative multimedia platforms, and developing in line with the demands of the times. Their main advantage is their ability to deeply analyze issues, provide reviews, and offer expertise," the President said.
