President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the government and akims to pay special attention to the quality of roads in cities and beyond. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
He said this while speaking to participants of the "Taza Qazaqstan" campaign, Akorda reported.
An unresolved problem
The head of state called the state of roads an unresolved problem. He said that measures would be taken in cases of violation of the law.
"This is our 'Achilles' heel', this must be admitted. No one was able to solve this problem (which in itself is shameful) or simply did not want to, and that is already sabotage. We will take measures with all the strictness of the law," Tokayev said.
Urbanistics centers
The president also demanded that the work of urbanistics centers in all regions be intensified without delay. According to him, they should help form a holistic architectural appearance of cities.
As an example, Tokayev cited the capital's Urbanistics Center, where models for the development of urban space and the design code of Astana are being developed. According to the president, foreign experience is also used in this work. He also noted the development of digitalization and artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan.

Earlier, "Kursiv" wrote that Tokayev promised to take the quality of construction under personal control and proposed extending the experience of the capital's Urbanistics Center to other regions.
