The Head of State sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of Japan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Akorda, the President expressed condolences to Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, families who lost loved ones, and the people of Japan over the deaths of many citizens as a result of the devastating earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed sympathy for the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture on Kyushu Island has reached 34. Twenty-two people received minor injuries, 39 received moderate injuries, and five people were seriously injured. The extent of injuries of another 20 people has not yet been determined.
