Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made an address on the occasion of the entry into force of the new Constitution of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The President noted that the entry into force of the new Constitution is an extremely important event for the entire country. "Today a new era begins in the history of independent Kazakhstan. We are embarking on the main path of political and economic reforms, large-scale transformations and dynamic development. This special day marks the beginning of a period of radical modernization of the entire political system of the country, as well as the main institutions of the state and civil society," Tokayev emphasized.
According to him, at the nationwide referendum on March 15, the people of Kazakhstan made a choice that directly affects the fate of the country and determines the vector of state development for decades to come. "From now on, Constitution Day will be celebrated alongside the Nauryznama ten-day period. Constitution Day combines the centuries-old traditions of spring renewal with the main principles of the Basic Law, that is, it resonates with the desire of our citizens for prosperous unity, advanced knowledge, and honest work for the benefit of the country," the head of state added.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the people of Kazakhstan, relying on the unshakable legal foundation of the genuine People's Constitution, will certainly achieve all their goals. "We will firmly establish in society the creative values: Law and Order, Hard Work and Prosperity, Purity and Care for Nature. I have no doubt about this. We, as a united, cohesive nation, will conquer the heights of world civilization and build a state that provides equal opportunities and opens the way for the comprehensive development of every citizen – a Just Kazakhstan! We will successfully fulfill our plans for the prosperity of our sacred Motherland. I firmly believe in this!" the president concluded.
