Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Alibek Kuantyrov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the President outlined the main tasks of the ministry, instructing to continue forest restoration work, develop national park infrastructure, and form a circular economy through waste processing.
"Special attention was paid to the prospect of building waste-to-energy plants in Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, with further continuation of this work in other regions," the statement said.
The importance of raising environmental culture and further effective implementation of the "Taza Kazakhstan" initiative was also emphasized.
