Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the 13th summit of the Organization of Turkic States, invited scholars from Turkic countries to take part in the international Yassawi forum. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state noted that further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation is also one of the important areas of partnership.
"Kazakhstan pays special attention to the study, preservation and promotion of the historical heritage of Turkic peoples. At the meeting held this year in Turkestan, I proposed creating a Center of Turkic Civilization and a 'Mangilik El' center dedicated to promoting steppe civilization. Relevant work is currently underway," he said.
In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that structures affiliated with the Organization are also carrying out fundamental work. The president emphasized the special place of the Altai in the history of the Turkic world and announced that the international festival "Altai – the Golden Cradle of the Turkic World" was held at a high level in Kazakhstan this year.
"By the decision of the ISESCO organization, the sacred city of Turkestan will become the cultural capital of the Islamic world next year. Within the framework of this initiative, we plan to hold large-scale events that will contribute to preserving the spiritual harmony and continuity of Turkic civilization. In particular, we will hold the Khoja Ahmed Yassawi international forum dedicated to literature and language issues, as well as a meeting of museum professionals from the Turkic and Islamic world. We invite our scholars to actively participate in these events," the head of state said.
