President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the heads of law enforcement agencies of Turkic countries ahead of the council of interior ministers of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by the interior ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The President said that cooperation among Turkic countries has been strengthening year by year. In this context, he noted that the meeting of interior ministers is particularly important.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev drew attention to the large-scale changes taking place in the world and the growing challenges globally.
"The global situation has become unstable and volatile. Nevertheless, new opportunities are opening up for all countries of the world. If we want to be among the civilized countries that meet the demands of the times, we must act swiftly and decisively," the president said.
At the end of the meeting, the President conveyed his warm wishes to the leaders of the fraternal states and noted that the Turkic countries, which share common roots, must always maintain friendly relations.
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev also spoke at the event.
