Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, the Akorda press service reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Tokayev congratulated the American leader on the 250th anniversary of US independence, noting that over a period equivalent to the lifespan of three generations, the country has become a powerful global power.

"The President noted that the domestic political course of the US administration, based on reason, resonates with the strategy of building a Just Kazakhstan on the principle of 'Law and Order', and therefore he supports the policies of Donald Trump," the statement said.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on issues of bilateral economic cooperation and political interaction.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that important agreements reached during his visit to Washington last November are being implemented at a high pace.

"The Head of State confirmed Kazakhstan's unwavering position on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and enriched uranium. He also stressed the importance of cooperation with the IAEA to strengthen the international control regime," the statement said.

In addition, recent meetings and negotiations in Akorda with Senator Steve Daines, US President's Special Representative Sergio Gorman, other senior White House officials, and representatives of American business circles were positively assessed.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited Donald Trump to visit Kazakhstan at a convenient time for him.
