Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The head of state congratulated the American leader on the 250th anniversary of US independence, noting that over three generations the country has become one of the world's leading powers.
During the conversation, the presidents discussed economic cooperation and political interaction between Kazakhstan and the United States. Tokayev emphasized that the agreements reached during his visit to Washington last November are being successfully implemented.
"The President of Kazakhstan noted that the policy of common sense underlying the domestic political course of the US Administration is essentially consonant with the strategy of building a Just Kazakhstan based on the principle of 'Law and Order' being implemented in our country. Therefore, he supports this policy of Donald Trump," the press service of Akorda said.
Special attention was paid to international security issues. The President of Kazakhstan confirmed the country's unwavering position on the inadmissibility of the proliferation of nuclear weapons and enriched uranium, and also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the IAEA to strengthen international control.
Tokayev also positively assessed the results of recent negotiations in Akorda with Senator Steve Daines, US President's Special Envoy Sergio Gor, and other representatives of the White House and American business circles.
At the end of the conversation, the head of state invited Donald Trump to visit Kazakhstan at a time convenient for him.
