According to the Akorda press service, the meeting discussed issues of digital transformation of the economy. According to the President, Siemens is a most important partner of the country. This is because such key areas of the company's activity as industrial digitalization, electrification, mobility and intelligent infrastructure correspond to Kazakhstan's modernization priorities.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told Bernd Ulbricht about the systemic measures taken for digital transformation in the real sectors of the economy. In this regard, the head of state supported the joint project of Siemens and the Kazakh company Silk Road Electronics to modernize the equipment of the Qarmet metallurgical plant.
In addition, the President stated that Kazakhstan is interested not only in purchasing advanced equipment, but also in creating production, engineering and service centers. In particular, the competencies and technological innovations of Siemens could be useful in modernizing the country's energy and utility sectors, as well as in improving the quality of environmental monitoring.
At the meeting, attention was drawn to the great potential for expanding cooperation with Siemens Healthineers in the field of medical technology.
