Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held telephone talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During the talks, the current state and prospects of strategic partnership between the two countries were discussed. The parties paid special attention to expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Tokayev noted Kazakhstan's interest in strengthening cooperation with China in all areas. Xi Jinping, in turn, confirmed China's readiness to develop friendly relations with Kazakhstan.
The leaders also exchanged views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda. They agreed to continue interaction within a number of international organizations.
Following the talks, the parties expressed mutual interest in further developing bilateral ties.
