Kazakhstan has added the Shamsi Kaldayakov medal and the honorary title 'Honored Artist of Kazakhstan' to the list of state awards. This was announced by presidential press secretary Aibek Smadiyarov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Smadiyarov, culture and art are the unshakable foundation of our national identity. Therefore, the new Constitution enshrines comprehensive support for national culture as a constitutional duty of the state.

"In this regard, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev decided to include the Shamsi Kaldayakov medal and the honorary title 'Honored Artist of Kazakhstan' in the list of state awards," Smadiyarov wrote.

These prestigious awards will be given to citizens who have served national culture faithfully, including making significant contributions to the development of music and visual arts.
