Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Rhenus Group CEO Tobias Bartz discussed prospects for developing strategic partnership in the transport and logistics sectors, as well as the implementation of joint infrastructure projects. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Akorda, the head of state noted that the company has contributed for many years to strengthening transport connectivity in Kazakhstan. He also said the country aims to become the continent's main logistics hub.
Focus on the Trans-Caspian route
At the meeting, particular attention was paid to developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for jointly forming a competitive logistics route with modern ports, terminals, railways and digital services.
He also welcomed the Rhenus Group's participation in the construction of a multimodal hub at the Aktau port.
Rhenus Group's intentions
Tobias Bartz noted Kazakhstan's great potential as a key transport and logistics hub and conveyed the company's intention to take part in joint projects. The parties confirmed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.
