President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including interaction in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Special attention was paid to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.

Tokayev noted the high level of strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The President emphasized the importance of increasing trade turnover and implementing joint projects.

In turn, Shakiev expressed warm words to Kazakhstan and stated Kyrgyzstan's interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan in all areas. He noted the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue for further strengthening bilateral relations.

Following the meeting, the parties reached a number of agreements aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and trust.
