Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev voted in the elections of deputies of the Kurultai. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The President visited polling station No. 520 located in the Palace of Independence and voted in the elections of deputies of the Kurultai. After that, the head of state held a briefing for media representatives.
"In fact, today is a historic day for our country. We are holding elections to a unicameral Kurultai for the first time. As a united country, we are carrying out large-scale reforms. You all know about this and are witnessing it. However, there is a lot of work ahead of us, and our goals are important. Today's elections are just the beginning of this work," Tokayev said.
Today, elections to the Kurultai are taking place in Kazakhstan. There are 10,423 polling stations across the republic, of which 79 are located in 61 foreign countries.
