The President appointed a new commander of the Land Forces, Akorda reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
New appointment
"By order of the head of state, Kuanyshbek Ushtayev has been appointed commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the statement said.
Former commander dismissed
By order of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Mereke Koshekbayev was dismissed from this post. He had been appointed to the position in November 2024.
