President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed Astana akim Zhenis Kassymbek to take tough measures against people who paint graffiti on the walls of public buildings. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Tokayev, such practice must be completely banned in Kazakh cities. To achieve this, he proposed adopting legislative and regulatory measures. The President called the application of graffiti on public buildings a manifestation of vandalism and malicious hooliganism.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Kassymbek reported to the President on the improvement of Astana. According to his data, in recent years about 500 courtyards and public spaces have been put in order in the capital, and by the end of 2026 more than 170 more are planned to be improved.
