Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Jakov Milatović held talks in an expanded format. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

During the talks, which involved members of the official delegations of both countries, the prospects for political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were discussed.

The head of state called Montenegro one of Kazakhstan's reliable partners in the Balkan Peninsula. He also highly appreciated the country's constructive and consistent policy aimed at joining the European Union.

"You play an important role in advancing reforms and strengthening Montenegro's position as a candidate for EU membership. We wish you success in achieving this national strategic goal," Tokayev said.

The President stated Kazakhstan's intention to revitalize partnership relations with Montenegro. According to him, the opening of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Podgorica demonstrates Astana's commitment to expanding bilateral ties as much as possible.

The head of state expressed confidence that today's meeting of business representatives and the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed between the chambers of commerce will contribute to the development of business relations.
