Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the Kazakhstan-China investment forum, proposed launching a Kazakh-Chinese programme called "Common History Destiny. Designed and Made in Both China And Kazakhstan". This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Joint projects in industry
According to him, 260 major joint projects with a total value of more than 62 billion dollars are currently being implemented in the industrial sector.
"Together with the Chinese company Jinyi Holding Group, a special industrial zone is being created in the Aktobe region. This zone will operate in accordance with international standards. I would like to particularly note the important projects of Lihua, Fufeng and Dalian Hesheng Holdings companies to form a cotton-textile cluster and deep processing of corn and wheat," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
A full-fledged production ecosystem
He noted that Kazakhstan aims to form a full-fledged production ecosystem through the implementation of individual investment projects.
"This step will make it possible to jointly enter the markets of Central Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union, the South Caucasus and European countries. I propose launching the Kazakh-Chinese programme called Designed and Made in Both China And Kazakhstan. The government, together with Chinese partners, must develop a list of promising projects and promptly begin implementing all of them," said Tokayev.
Mining and metallurgy as a priority
The head of state named cooperation in the mining and metallurgy complex as another priority area. According to him, Kazakhstan has abundant reserves of such critical minerals as uranium, copper, gold and coal, as well as rare metals.
