Security Council Chairman Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held the first meeting of the Security Council apparatus, which was established as an independent state body. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state noted that the apparatus's new status must be considered in connection with the process of reforming state institutions. According to him, at a time when the global situation is shifting, the Security Council must become a center that adopts concrete and comprehensively analyzed decisions on the most important issues.
Tokayev drew attention to the fact that the nature of current challenges has changed significantly. In this regard, special emphasis was placed on ensuring cybersecurity and the use of artificial intelligence.
"The Chairman of the Security Council focused particularly on information, technology, food, water and energy security, whose relevance will only grow in the future," the presidential press service wrote.
The president set priorities in these areas and named the "Law and Order" principle as the main guideline. Following the meeting, the apparatus was tasked with a number of specific assignments.
Protecting Kazakhstan's national interests, sovereignty and stability must be the main criterion determining the effectiveness of the Security Council's work, Tokayev said.
