The Head of State sent a telegram of condolences to the Emir of Qatar. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed condolences to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in connection with the tragic incident at the Ras Laffan industrial center. Many people were injured as a result of the incident.
"In this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with Qatar and support search and rescue operations. Kazakhstan is ready to provide assistance if necessary," the telegram reads.
It should be noted that a powerful explosion and fire occurred at the Barzan gas facility in the Ras Laffan industrial area in Qatar, a project of the state-owned company QatarEnergy. The incident occurred during commissioning. 13 people were killed and more than 60 were injured. Search operations for the missing are underway.
