President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani over the incident in the Ras Laffan industrial center. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Akorda, the head of state expressed condolences over the tragic incident that resulted in many people being injured and missing.

"In this difficult hour, we stand in solidarity with Qatar and express support for the efforts aimed at searching for and rescuing people. If necessary, Kazakhstan is ready to provide any assistance," the telegram reads.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that on June 22-23, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay an official visit to Brussels.

Ras Laffan is a major industrial hub in Qatar, housing liquefied natural gas and petrochemical complexes. The circumstances of the incident are still being clarified. Qatari authorities said official information about the victims will be released later.

The condolences of the President of Kazakhstan underscore the friendly relations between the two countries. Kazakhstan and Qatar are developing cooperation in various fields, including economy, culture, and humanitarian aid.

It is worth noting that during his visit to Brussels, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will hold meetings with European Union leaders. The main topics of the visit are economic cooperation, investment, and strengthening trade and economic ties.
