Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In the telegram, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wrote that he received with deep distress the sad news of the passing of the former Emir of the State of Qatar, Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The head of state expressed condolences to the Emir of Qatar, his family, and his compatriots.

"Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is an outstanding figure who made a historic contribution to the prosperity of Qatar and ensuring a sustainable future for its people, selflessly serving to strengthen international peace and stability. Kazakhs will always remember your father, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, as a wise leader, a respected politician of international level, and a historical figure who made a great contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation," the telegram reads.

It is worth noting that the former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani passed away at the age of 74. In Qatar, a four-day national mourning has been declared due to his death.
