President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that a number of republican public associations exist only nominally and are used in fraudulent schemes or to absorb state orders. Such facts are being handed over to law enforcement agencies. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Speaking at a meeting of the Qazaqstan Halq Kenesi, the head of state criticized fictitious public structures created for selfish interests.
"I was informed that a number of republican public associations exist on paper and have only loud 'signboards,' while in fact they represent 'Roga i Kopyta' offices. It is clear that such structures were created not to protect the interests of citizens, but at best for careerist purposes. It even came to fraudulent schemes. This is unacceptable, so such facts are being transferred to the jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies," Tokayev emphasized.
The president noted that the state must resolutely stop the practice of creating so-called "service" organizations whose sole purpose is to absorb funds from the state social order.
At the same time, the head of state assigned the newly created Halq Kenesi a key role in bringing order to the public sector. According to the president, many consultative and advisory bodies operate in the country today, but their work is often fragmented and their functions are duplicated.
"The Halq Kenesi will need to ensure their coordination, unite expert potential, and systematize all incoming proposals," the president concluded.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Tokayev called for showing principle and firmness toward provocateurs. According to him, the Kazakh language has become the most important factor of nationwide consolidation and is gaining popularity among young people without any coercion.
