President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On Psychological Services'. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Psychological services are regulated by law for the first time. The main feature of the new law is the clear definition of requirements for the profession of psychologist.
According to the new law: - A person without specialized higher education and not registered in the unified state register cannot call themselves a 'psychologist'; - Restrictions are imposed on the use of titles 'psycho-coach', 'psycho-consultant'; - It is prohibited for individuals without professional education to use the word 'psychologist' for advertising purposes; - Information disclosed to a psychologist cannot be published without the client's written consent; - Audio or video recording during sessions without the person's permission is also prohibited.
The document blocks unqualified specialists and ensures citizens receive quality and safe services.
