According to the Kremlin press service, during the phone call Kassym-Jomart Tokayev warmly congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the successful holding of elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Tokayev said the voting results convincingly demonstrate broad support for the Russian president's strategic course aimed at protecting the long-term interests of the Russian state.
The presidents also touched upon a number of issues on the bilateral agenda and cooperation in the Eurasian region, including preparations for the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State scheduled for early October in Turkmenistan.
The leaders confirmed their mutual commitment to the further dynamic development of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.
