Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to a statement from the Kremlin press service, the parties discussed topical issues of further developing Russian-Kazakh relations as comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance in accordance with the agreements reached during the Russian president's state visit to Kazakhstan in May 2026.

The presidents paid special attention to the implementation of bilateral projects in trade, economic, and energy sectors. It was also reported that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev shared his impressions from his recent trip to Brussels.
