Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a letter to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Akorda press service reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The President congratulated the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on the successful conclusion of his diplomatic efforts that led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Iran.
"The President highly appreciated Pakistan's constructive role in facilitating this historic agreement, noting Shehbaz Sharif's visionary leadership and his consistent advocacy for the principle of peaceful conflict resolution," the message said.
The head of state emphasized that this agreement is of particular importance for ensuring long-term stability in the Middle East and the entire world.
"The President also expressed hope that Islamabad will continue to make a significant contribution to strengthening regional security and trust between states," the Akorda said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed Kazakhstan's readiness to further expand multifaceted cooperation with Pakistan and wished the Prime Minister success in his responsible position.
