Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said with the Altyn Qyran Order. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Sultan of Oman is on his first state visit not only to Kazakhstan but to Central Asia as a whole.
"Therefore, I consider this a special gift and respect shown to our country, as well as a symbol that both sides intend to strengthen cooperation in all areas consistent with trade and mutual interests. We are glad to have such a strategic partner as Oman. We will also make every effort to be a reliable partner of your country," Tokayev said.
Today Kazakhstan can call Oman not just a partner but a friendly and brotherly country.
"You have proven that by setting a strategic goal, one can prosper a state and set it on a broad path of development. This can be seen in the steps to invest in human capital, master innovations and build a future-oriented economy. The Oman Vision 2040 program shows the correctness of your strategic course towards forming a diversified, competitive and sustainable economy while preserving the national identity, values and traditions of the country," the head of Kazakhstan said.
Tokayev called the Sultan of Oman a visionary leader, a guardian of peace and a prudent figure.
In turn, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said awarded Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with the highest state award of the Sultanate of Oman – the Order of Al Said.
The President of Kazakhstan and the Sultan of Oman adopted a joint statement.
