The head of state expressed condolences over the deaths of servicemen in the Mangystau region, Akorda reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed condolences to the families and friends of servicemen killed as a result of a tragic incident during military exercises in the Mangystau region.
"The head of state instructed the government commission to take the necessary measures to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to provide assistance to the families of the deceased," the statement said.
Recall that an emergency occurred during exercises in the Mangystau region, and 9 people died.
According to preliminary data, on September 24, due to a sharp deterioration in weather and strengthening winds, 19 servicemen were swept away by a wave in the Caspian Sea.
Currently, it has been established that 9 of them died.
Three servicemen were rescued, one of them was hospitalized.
Search operations for the rest are ongoing.
By order of the Prime Minister, a government commission has been created to investigate the causes of the tragic incident.
