Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential election. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Lula da Silva became president of Brazil for the fourth time. On his X social media account, Tokayev wrote: "I congratulate you, Mr. President, on your well-deserved victory in the presidential election. The people of Brazil have expressed support for your policies of strengthening national sovereignty, enhancing Brazil's status as a great world power, advancing the reform of the United Nations, and promoting a world order based on justice."

According to the election results, with 99.98% of votes counted, Lula da Silva won with 51.78% of the vote. His opponent, right-wing politician Flávio Bolsonaro, received 48.22% of the vote.

It can be said that voters gave Lula da Silva a birthday present – he turns 81 on October 27. Born into a large family of farmers, Lula da Silva became head of state on his fourth attempt and served the country in this position for two terms from 2003 to 2011. In 2022, he was elected to a third term, defeating Jair Bolsonaro, the father of his current opponent Flávio Bolsonaro.

Lula da Silva based his election campaign on the principles of defending Brazil's sovereignty and combating social, racial, and gender inequality.
