President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Oliver Pfann, Senior Vice President of Linde GmbH, the Akorda reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised Linde's contribution to the development of domestic industry. The company's technologies are widely used in metallurgy, mining, chemicals, energy, healthcare, electronics and high-tech manufacturing.
"The President welcomed the company's plans to implement a number of projects in Kazakhstan with an investment value of up to 500 million dollars, including the signing of an agreement between Linde and Qarmet on the construction of a new air separation unit in the city of Temirtau," the statement said.
During the meeting, the prospects for joint projects in the petrochemical industry were considered. The head of state focused on Linde's carbon capture and storage technologies and noted that the company's commitment to developing hydrogen infrastructure is in line with the country's task of transitioning to "green" economy standards.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the development of a petrochemical and chemical cluster has been launched in the Atyrau and Mangystau regions. He invited Linde to take part in these promising projects.
Oliver Pfann thanked the President of Kazakhstan for supporting the company's projects. He also expressed readiness to further expand the partnership and open new production facilities in the country.
