Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to Polish President Karol Nawrocki in connection with the deaths of people in a shooting in Krakow. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Akorda press service, Tokayev strongly condemned the act of violence, expressed solidarity with the people of Poland and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on November 7 a man opened fire on passers-by in the Main Market Square in central Krakow. Six people were killed and another 16 were injured. Police detained the suspect, a 25-year-old Polish citizen. He was hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Later, the bodies of three more people, presumably his close relatives, were found in the detainee's home. The investigation is checking a possible link between the attack and the suspect's far-right views. Poland declared national mourning for November 8-9.
