In Seoul, a solemn ceremony was held to present the Order of Dostyk II degree to state and public figures of the Republic of Korea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greeted those gathered for the ceremony and noted that the Kazakh and Korean peoples have long been friends.
"Although our countries are far apart, mutual respect and common interests have brought us closer. The Korean economy, despite competition and challenges, is developing successfully. This is thanks to the hard work of the people and major entrepreneurs. The Republic of Korea is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan. Five years ago we adopted a statement on expanded strategic partnership," Tokayev said.
The President noted that a deep political dialogue has been established between the two states and multifaceted cooperation is strengthening. According to him, trade and economic relations are developing dynamically.
Tokayev said that representatives of the Korean ethnic group in our country play a special role in strengthening ties with Korea. According to the President, strengthening the friendship of the two peoples meets common interests.
"I consider today an important day for Kazakh-Korean relations. Within the framework of this visit, I have decided to award a number of prominent state and public figures of the Republic of Korea the Order of Dostyk II degree. This is a sign of the sincere respect and goodwill of the Kazakh people toward you," Tokayev said.
The President expressed confidence that they will continue to make a significant contribution to strengthening ties between the two countries.
