President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella over the numerous casualties caused by the devastating earthquake in Colombia. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state expressed condolences to President Abelardo de la Espriella and his compatriots on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on his own behalf. The President expressed wishes for the families of the deceased to find solace and for the missing to quickly return to their families.
Earthquake aftermath
The death toll from the earthquake in Colombia has exceeded 130, with over 180 missing. Another 570 people were injured. More than 1,500 houses, 18 medical centers, and 52 schools were damaged. 61 buildings were completely destroyed.
