President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze with the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), First Class. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

At the award ceremony, the head of state called Irakli Kobakhidze a friend of Kazakhstan, a visionary leader, and a statesman devoted to his work.

"I am confident that Georgia will continue to move forward on the path of sustainable development, reaching new heights as a strong and prosperous country," the president said.

Tokayev also noted the high level of relations between Kazakhstan and Georgia, which, according to him, are based on deep historical ties, shared cultural values, and long-standing friendship between the peoples.

The head of state emphasized that the Georgian community is considered an important part of Kazakhstan's multi-ethnic society and serves as a bridge between the two countries.

"In recent years, bilateral relations have gained new momentum: political dialogue has intensified, mutual trade is steadily growing, and economic cooperation continues to expand across various sectors. Kazakhstan and Georgia effectively interact on the world stage, consistently supporting each other on key international issues," the president noted.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, in response, thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the high appreciation of his work and the honor shown.

The day before, the President of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Georgia held talks, stating that relations between the countries are now transitioning to a strategic status. They also discussed strengthening the Trans-Caspian route and Kazakhstan's presence in Georgian ports — Poti, Anaklia, and Batumi.
