President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed inflation in his address to the people of Kazakhstan today. He said macroeconomic policy must be conducted carefully and thoughtfully. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
«In recent years, the Government has completely revised the budget and tax system. But the effectiveness of state policy is assessed primarily by the well-being of citizens and their economic activity. Therefore, the most important goal for us is to increase the population's income,» Tokayev said.
The President noted that this requires, first of all, a systematic fight against inflation.
«To put it figuratively, inflation is a silent enemy that undermines the well-being of our citizens every day. However, the inflation level is still high. Therefore, first of all, the Government and the National Bank must work together in a coordinated manner. This is a critically important task,» Tokayev said.
In this regard, the President said the Government must conduct budget and tax policy as seriously as possible, as well as create favorable conditions to strengthen the economy's production potential and increase business productivity.
Tokayev also commented on the new system for assigning benefits.
