Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met at the Akorda with schoolchildren and students who became winners and prize-winners of international subject Olympiads. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The ceremonial event was attended by 21 laureates, as well as their teachers and mentors. Among the winners of prestigious educational competitions in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, geography and linguistics, six won gold medals, eleven – silver, and four – bronze.
The President congratulated the talented youth who achieved excellent results in educational competitions on their bright victory and expressed sincere gratitude.
“This year, our schoolchildren took part in 44 international Olympiads and scientific competitions and won more than a thousand medals. I would like to especially note the schoolchildren who performed brilliantly at the International Physics Olympiad. All five of our participants in the prestigious competition won gold medals and became winners. This is a unique indicator that has no analogues. In general, we should strive for such excellent results in all areas. The potential of Kazakhstan's youth is fully sufficient for this,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President noted that the state will always support all talented young people and will create all conditions for young people to receive quality education and comprehensive development.
“I want Kazakh youth to be patriotic, educated and hardworking. I wish them to be compassionate towards their country, caring for nature, and truly honest citizens. In particular, I highly appreciate and support the work of volunteers. I believe in youth!” said the Head of State.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also thanked the teachers who hone the talents of the younger generation and provide them with education.
At the ceremonial ceremony, the President presented schoolchildren and students who won gold, silver and bronze medals at international subject Olympiads with certificates for cash rewards in the amount of 1,500, 1,000 and 500 monthly calculation indices, respectively. Teachers and mentors whose students excelled at prestigious international competitions were awarded high state honors.
