Kazakhstan's People's Assembly will be granted the authority to nominate candidates for the Yel Birligi order. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Today, at the first session of the People's Assembly, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his gratitude to young people of various ethnicities who widely promote the Kazakh language and culture.
"How can one not rejoice at this? They are, in essence, people with a rich spiritual world, endowed with talent. Such people, who have become a link of friendship, always deserve high respect and support. After all, their contribution to maintaining stability in society and enhancing the authority of our state as a civilized, successful participant in world processes is enormous," Tokayev said.
In this regard, the president recalled that the Yel Birligi order was established several years ago. It is a high, special award given to those who have worked fruitfully to strengthen national unity and ensure public accord.
"As an organization with constitutional status and representing the people, I consider it right and fair that the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan should nominate worthy candidates for this high award," the head of state said.
It was also noted during the session that some provocateurs stir up interethnic discord and deliberately add fuel to the fire.
