Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will attend the G20 summit at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At a meeting between Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev and US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapor, preparations for the event were discussed. The summit will take place in December 2026 in Miami.
During the meeting, the parties expressed readiness for further interaction to substantively shape the high-level agenda, according to a statement from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kosherbayev and Kapor also discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for further strengthening the expanded strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States. Special attention was paid to Kazakhstan's initiative to strengthen the global architecture of water resources management, including President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's initiative to establish an International Water Organization as a specialized UN agency.
